Bishop Joseph Rodríguez is the Vice President of the Apostolic Assembly, elected for the 2022 to 2026 term.

He was born October 10, 1950, in Bakersfield, California. His grandfather was one of the first Apostolic evangelists in Arizona. Taking up the calling of his grandfather, this charismatic fourth-generation Apostolic leader was ordained to the ministry in 1975 in Oakland, California. He later served as a National Evangelist, preaching in revivals throughout the United States. A witness to the technological advances happening in Silicon Valley he began to work for IBM Corporation wherein he became Failure Analysis Senior Methods Specialist, he retired from a brilliant career in 1992.

The Lord Jesus used the bishop’s father Pastor Joseph G. Rodríguez in 1982 to plant the Third Apostolic Assembly of San José, California. When his father retired in 1992 the bishop was appointed to this church. He grew this church until he retired and turned over the pastorate to his son Steven Rodríguez in 2015.

Soon after becoming pastor, he served in several district responsibilities. First, he served as Sector Elder for six years. Later he served eight years as District Secretary. In 2007 the pastors of his district elected him Bishop Supervisor of the Northern Pacific Coast of California district. His fight with cancer did not stop him, the Lord gave him victory, and as Bishop, he planted three churches. The 2014 General Convention elected him Secretary of Social Assistance. In this office he organized for the church to self-insure its death benefit for all pastors. The 2018 General Convention elected him General Secretary. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he was appointed Bishop Supervisor of the Great Lakes District in 2021. The 2022 General Convention elected him Vice President.

He is married to sister Delia and lives in San José. They have three children: Joey, Steven, and Jacob. This precious couple has four grandchildren: Nicolette, Makai, Chloe and Arya.
